Acupuncture is a medical technique used to treat a wide variety of conditions.
During the past few years, acupuncture has become increasingly popular. Whilst it is exciting that the range of medical applications of acupuncture is increasing, it does mean that acupuncture should be practised as a branch of medicine. In order to provide an integrated medical service, it is in your interest to be referred by your General Practitioner.

Dr Liyanage is a fully registered medical practitioner, trained and experienced in acupuncture. Practising for some 25 years, he holds regular clinics, dealing specifically with the spine, joints, muscles and other tissues. He is a past Chairman and has been a Course Organiser of the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Dr Liyanage has been a Consultant Rheumatologist in the NHS since 1975. He is recognised by all major private health insurance companies.
